Progress

Coming up later this week, I've finally got a complete before and after laundry room post!

In the mean time, here's a little "Happy Monday" for all of you. It's a few close ups of one of my favourite laundry room details-- a candle made out of a 10th Anniversary, limited edition, ale bottle.

My parents gave us the stuff to make a wine bottle candle forever ago, and we've been waiting and waiting (and drinking and drinking ;-) to find the perfect bottle.  In the end, it was a fancy beer bottle that took the cake.  This one was a winner with both me and Jim.  We liked the "rustic" aesthetic of the bottle. Though, I must confess to sitting it on a little mirror to make it fancy.

The thing we loved most about this particular bottle was the quote:

Don't be afraid to take an unfamiliar path,
as often they're the ones that take you to the best places,
for without deviation from the norm
progress is not possible.

Have you experimenting with making your own candles in any way? How about using old wine/beer bottles for other decor?
